Tim and Barbara Varga, proprietors of Salon VIP, met in Budapest, Hungary many years ago and it was a case of love at first sight.  They have a son and a grandson to carry on the family name.

Barbara Varga, hairstylist, colour technician and long hair specialist. With years of experience behind her, Barbara travelled the world with hairdressing. Originally from Europe, Barbara worked in Hungary, Italy, Austria, Sydney and for many years now, on the Gold Coast.

She has worked in the television industry including Channel 7’s Sons and Daughters and celebrity appearance acts. She has created hair shows beyond belief. 

2011 saw Barbara at the World Hairdressing Championships in Paris and in Milan where she was stylist for a renowned Milan fashion magazine.

Barbara was in Sydney in June 2012 to introduce one of the most powerful tools for the hair industry to create ‘fashion without limit‘ - the ‘8 Hair System’. 

November 2014 saw her in Denmark for the HairContrast and ConnectingHair conference, showcasing the latest in hair extensions.

2017 - Paris World Hairdressing Championship showcasing our products.

2018 - Melbourne Hair Expo - MC2 Natural colours from Italy.  This range is available in the salon now.

Her artistry is unique in todays hairdressing, combining good old fashion work with modern art. 

Barbara has also had the honour of being nominated twice for the prestigious Business Woman of the Year Award.

2020 - While Covid-19 put a hold on the world, Salon VIP did not stand still, connecting with inter-coiffure members all over the world to keep up with the latest in hair fashion.

2024  -  Sydney Hair Festival in June.

2025  -  A visit to Europe during August and September will have Barbara returning with all the new fashion trends to share.

At Salon VIP, we use organic and plant based colours with no ammonia or harmful chemicals. We are happy to answer all inquiries about colouring.
